This has been a busy half-year for us.
Since the last World Environment Day, Trump has exited the Paris Climate Agreement, the world has become more clogged up with plastic waste and blue whales are dying in the waters of Thailand and being hunted in Japan. But it's so easy to focus on failure. We almost never highlight the incredible, positive news, and sometimes we forget about the fact that the European Union is moving to ban single-use plastics and big organisations are rallying for change.
This year, the theme for World Environmental Day is 'Beat Plastic Pollution', which is an ideal topic, seeing that plastic overflow is one of the most pressing issues in the world today. Plastic has only become cheaper and more abundant over time, and we need great effort to come from every individual on this planet if we really want to make a change.

The tag #BeatPlasticPollution and #WorldEnvironmentDay has become ever-popular, in hope of spreading awareness and ideas through social media, the most relevant and convenient form of announcing and collaborating. People from all over the world joined in, in hope of cleaning up their planet.
World Environment Day shows us that if humanity has a goal that has positive impact, is globally beneficial and generally beautiful, people can and will get involved, because they have the power to change the world. Every individual on this planet, including you, has the power and better yet, the responsibility, to help out. So as small a change as you can bring about, do it. Small actions have larger results than you think. What can you do for the environment, today, and for all the days that come after? In what unique way will you change the world? Keep in mind that World Environment Day is for awareness, but your entire life is for change. Make the best of it.
