• Environmental organisations like WWF, Wildlife SOS, The Union of Concerned Scientists, Natural Resources Defence Council, Environmental Working Group, Greenpeace Fund, Friends of the Earth, Rainforest Alliance, Earthjustice, Ocean Conservancy, Earth Island Institute and The Sierra Club Foundation make a lot of impact but depend on funds to make change. Local organisations are also great to donate to.

• By setting up a bake sale stall, you can not only raise money, but also raise awareness by making your purpose for having the bake sale very clear. You could also theme the food in a manner that it relates to your charity. For example, for the Ocean Conservancy, you can bake blue goods and put up a poster on why the ocean matters, and why problems arise in it. This way, you help out and allow your community to be more aware of environmental issues.

• Gather a lot of people. Instead of just your core group of friends working on this project, involve communities like schools, work departments and organise it at a fair or celebration in order to have maximum impact.

• Make a 'no-waste, no-packaging' policy so that you raise awareness of food wastage and plastic use as well!
